The Bible says that there is only one way to know if you will go to Heaven when you die. That is by accepting Jesus Christ as you own Lord and Savior of your life. It is as simple as ABC.
"A" - you must accept the fact that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness. Sin is missing God's standard for our lives. But, you may be thinking that you're not a sinner. The Bible says that if you have even so much as thought about someone of the opposite sex in an inappropriate way, you have already committed adultery with that person in your heart. This breaks one of the Ten Commandments where God says, you shall not commit adultery. And the Bible also says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This sin earns us death. Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." A wage is something we earn. We earn eternal punishment and separation from God in hell because we have sinned. But God doesn't want us to go there. He provided us a way back to heaven.
"B" -you must believe in Christ. You must have faith that He is able to save you. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for the salvation to those who believe...." Romans 1:16. Believing in Christ means you must have faith in Him. You must let Him be your Lord and Savior.
"C" -you must confess to Christ that He is your Lord and Savior. You must pray to God and ask Him to save you and He will. The Bible gives us the awesome promise "that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9.
